As I mentioned yesterday, electricty and water are resources that I could reduce my consumption of. I don’t use much gasoline or money so I don’t think I could reduce my consumption of those much more.

Everyone put a lot of effort into the project and it shows how everyone cares. It makes me want to tell others about simple changes that everyone can make to better the environment. This project was a great wake up call and really showed me how lucky developed nations are in comparison to developing nations.

I didn’t change much today becuase I have continued to consume less resources. I didn’t use the computer much today and I would like to keep it that way. However, it depends on the day so I don’t know if I could permanately reduce computer usage. Water and electricity are things I will reduce my consumption of going forward because it is pretty easy to reduce usage of them. Money is the one thing I know I can reduce my consumption permanately because I typically don’t spend much money.
4. Following - What did you learn from following the tumblr feed of your peers? Did one person’s actions resonate with you in a positive way? Will you adjust your own actions because of this?
I noticed that many people are talking about how everyone is consuming less. I am surpirsed at how hard it seems everyone is trying. It gives the project importance and makes me care more about it and want to try harder. Also, a few people have mentioned how the changes we have made will only make a difference if we continue with them after the 7 day challenge is over. I completely agree because changes in the long term mean a lot more than changes in the short term.

Reducing all technology usage is something I defintely want to achieve in the long term. It takes some effort but it is something I want to do. I want to keep low tv usage and keep spending less time on the computer. One reason I want to keep using less technology is because I don’t think it is healthy to stare at a screen for most of the day. I want to do things that will have a more positve impact on me. I only use gasoline when I get a ride to school and I usually walk home which is something I am going to continue to do. Also, I am going to keep reducing water usage (not drinking water) because it can really make a difference.
4. Following - What did you learn from following the tumblr feed of your peers? Did one person’s actions resonate with you in a positive way? Will you adjust your own actions because of this?
Many people are using the water footprint calculator. Figuring out how much water I use was kind of shocking and makes me want to do even more. I am now more aware of how much I truly consume so I am going to continue working towards reducing my usage of vital resources.

I reduced water consumption today and I definitely could reduce my water consumption everyday. It isn’t that difficult but it takes some thought. I didn’t leave the water running while I was using the sink and that saves a lot of water. By learning in class about how much water we consume, it makes it easier to reduce consmption because I now know it can really make a difference. I also reduced tv usage and it is something I could keep doing. I could still reduce computer usage but it it difficult because I use it for a lot of things. I only use the computer for a couple of hours day though. All in all, reducing my consumption is becoming easier because I now understand what it means with regards to the environment.

I defintely can scale back on how much money I spend because I don’t usually spend during the week. I could easily reduce my consumption of money permanatly. Electricity is also something I could permanately reduce my consmption of because it can be done by simply shutting off lights when they are not used. Water is something I could also reduce. I didn’t realize how much water was used for simple things such as washing hands. Knowing now how much water is used for things like that really makes me want to consume less and I think I could definitely do it.
4. Following - What did you learn from following the tumblr feed of your peers? Did one person’s actions resonate with you in a positive way? Will you adjust your own actions because of this?
It seems everyone is cutting certain things drastically such as not watching tv at all. It shows how all it takes is a little motivation to drastically change our lifestyles for the better. I am adjusting my actions but not drastically. I am going to keep reducing my consumption and working towards only consuming around what I need.

I could defintely permanetly cut back on tv and computer usage. Certain days I use the computer alot while other days I barely use it. I could reduce my consumption of electricty permanently because I could turn lights off when I am not using them. It would save a lot if energy. I typically don’t spend that much money so there isn’t much to reduce.

I learned many things from the tumblr feeds of others. Everyone uses water, electricity, and food for the same reasons. Many people are completely reducing consumption of things such as money which makes ne want to do the same. Also, by cutting consumption of things like tv allows for me to find alternatives and do things that will have a more positive impact.

It would be very difficult not to use a cellphone or the computer because they very helpful and make things much easier. I definitely could cut back on the amount of electricity I use such as reducing tv time. Also, I coud find alternatives, but I don’t know what they are yet. I could not permanetely reduce computer use because everything is now going electronic. And the same goes for cellphones. Everything can be reduced but some things need to be used in everyday life.
